Is My Jeep a JK or a JL?
Have you ever wondered what JK and JL mean in jeeps? If you’re an off-roader, this is probably a very important question for you.
The letters stand for “Jeep Wrangler” and “Jeep Wrangler Unlimited,” respectively. The two models are very similar, but there are some differences that can make your life much easier—and your driving experience more enjoyable.
Wrangler JK Jeeps have five-speed automatic transmission systems. But if you have a JL, then you have an eight-speed automatic transmission instead. This means that the JL model is more environmentally friendly, drives better in the low gear range, and can speed up to 60 mph faster than its predecessor.
